When you first set up your rabbit r1, you will be prompted to visit rabbit.tech/activate on your phone or computer and then use your rabbit r1 to scan an activation QR code. Your r1 might not immediately recognize the QR code or you may see an error like “unable to link your account error code: #”.
This article provides instructions on how to get your QR activation code and tips on how to fix activation issues.
How to get your activation QR code
After you connect your rabbit r1 to the internet during the initial setup process, you will see a message that says “go to rabbit.tech/activate to link your account”.
Follow the steps below to get your activation QR code.
- On your phone or computer, open a web browser and go to rabbit.tech/activate
- Create a new rabbithole account or log in to an existing account
- On your rabbit r1, open the camera by using the scroll wheel to highlight continue and then press the side button
- The rabbit eye on your r1 will rotate and the camera will turn on
- Point your r1 at the QR code and it will automatically scan the code and link your account to your r1 device
Your r1 will display a message that says “successfully linked to account”.
How to fix QR code activation issues
If you have issues activating your rabbit r1 with the QR code during setup, try the following troubleshooting tips.
- Zoom in on the QR code. Make the QR code larger on your phone or computer.
- Adjust the screen brightness. Try increasing or decreasing the brightness on your phone or computer.
- Clean your r1’s camera. Use a microfiber cloth to clean your rabbit eye camera lens.
- Open the QR code on a different device. Pull up the QR code at rabbit.tech/activate on a different phone or computer.
- Restart your r1. Quickly press the side button eight times to turn off your r1. After your r1 is turned off, hold the side button for about five seconds to turn it back on.
- Improve your Wi-Fi connection. Your r1 may have issues activating if you have a weak Wi-Fi connection or are at the edge of your Wi-Fi range.
