Your rabbit r1 can create AI-generated interfaces with the experimental generative UI (gen UI) feature. Generative UI can be used to create dynamic interfaces that display the results of some queries on your r1.
This article provides instructions on how to enable gen UI, how to create custom prompts for gen UI, and answers to common questions about gen UI on r1.
Warning: Enabling generative UI will allow AI-generated interface elements to appear on your r1 in certain situations. Generative UI can display unexpected results and behave in unpredictable ways.
How to enable generative UI on rabbit r1
Generative UI is an experimental feature, so you must enable it in your rabbithole account.
- Log in to your rabbithole account
- Click settings and then click profile
- Find generative ui in the experimental section
- Click enable generative ui
- Read the disclaimer and then click enable generative ui to confirm
- Click continue with default style or type your own gen UI prompt and click customize
- Quickly press the side button on your r1 five times to perform a memory refresh
Tip: You can disable generative UI at any time in your rabbithole settings.
How to use a custom prompt for gen UI
After you enable generative UI, you can describe the style you want to see and gen UI will try to create an interface in that style.
- Go to the profile menu in your rabbithole account
- Find the custom prompt text box in the experimental section and click edit
- Type your own custom gen UI prompt and then click customize
Tip: You can click continue with default style to go back to the default gen UI theme.
Custom prompt examples for gen UI
You can control the look of your generated UI by writing a custom style prompt. Try the following custom prompt examples or make your own based on your favorite movie, TV show, or video game.
- “You are a talented frontend UI designer and your favorite season is autumn. You will generate a very high quality UI in this style and it will look amazing.”
- “You are an 80s obsessed frontend designer and you are absolutely unhinged in your design style. You pay no mind to the customs of the industry and you do whatever you want, but you love neon, strobes, cluttered design, LED signs, cyberpunk, hearts, old 90s GeoCities website designs, manga, and kawaii.”
- “Create a super minimal UI using just black and white and use super thin lines for the UI if needed. Use a small font size at around 10pt. Write everything in caps and use Helvetica as the default font. UI should be hyper-minimal. For titles use a 25pt font and make sure the leading is very low.
If you are having trouble thinking of a creative description, ask your r1 for help and then go to your rabbithole journal to find the response.
- “I’m creating a prompt to use for generative UI. Pretend you’re a UI designer and help me write a 200 word description about the style of 90s sci-fi”
Common questions about generative UI on rabbit r1
Find answers to commons questions about generative UI in the sections below.
How can I trigger gen UI on my r1?
After you enable gen UI in rabbithole, your r1 will show AI-generated UI screens for long form responses and LAM playground.
Example: Enable gen UI and then ask your r1 to “Look up the top 5 basketball players of all time. Show me how long they played and what their best game was.”
Why are responses slower from my r1 after enabling gen UI?
Gen UI is slower than the default UI on r1 and can take over 30 seconds to appear. If you want the fastest responses, you can disable the experimental generative UI setting in your rabbithole account.
How can I scroll through an interface created by gen UI?
Use the touch screen on your r1 to scroll through the gen UI display.
