rabbit r1 receives prestigious iF Design Award 2025

We’re thrilled to share that rabbit has been awarded the prestigious iF Design Award 2025 for rabbit r1.

The iF Design Award is one of the most distinguished and highly competitive design competitions in the world. This year saw nearly 11,000 submissions from 66 countries, judged by a panel of 131 independent design professionals over the course of three days. To be selected, products are judged on five criteria: differentiation, form, function, idea, and sustainability. We’re proud that r1 stood out among such a wide range of strong entries to earn this award.

The design of r1 took inspiration from some of our favorite retro gadgets like the Tamagotchi and the Pokédex, resulting in an unforgettable AI-native device that has led the way in defining a new category of consumer electronics. r1 has kept the fun in function, with tactile hardware features like the rotating camera and scroll wheel, as well as the leuchtorange colorway that has become iconic for its boldness. After 30+ over-the-air software updates and counting, r1 is a fun gadget that also offers consumer-level access to rabbit’s latest research updates in AI agent technology for our customers.

For the industrial design of r1, rabbit partnered with renowned design firm teenage engineering, one of the world’s leading innovators of award-winning hardware like synthesizers and other audio devices. The design has already been widely recognized in the consumer technology industry for its retrofuture aesthetic and intuitive functionality. We’re excited to keep collaborating with teenage engineering as we continue exploring new hardware form factors and new ways to interact with technology.
