Each new era of technology requires a rethink of how we interact with machines. This is certainly the case for the AI era. Companies that thrive on established technologies from the last industrial revolution now find themselves caught in a dilemma of innovating versus protecting their legacy business models. But for rabbit, as a startup, it’s an opportunity to explore new possibilities. We aren’t just building new products — we’re exploring a new paradigm and invite you to experience first-hand how technology can transform the world as you have known it. In fact, this has been rabbit’s mission from day one: to re-define how humans interact with machines.

Natural language is one of the most fundamental forms of human communication. The evolution of synthesized voices in tech products serves as a benchmark for our progress in delivering an interaction experience based on natural language. We’re inspired by the products that have pioneered voice-based interactions with technology — from the simple, responsive systems of Texas Instruments’ Speak&Spell and Language Translator from the late 1970s, to the pre-scripted, one-way conversational interactions of the Furby in 1998. We are now seeing the interaction between humans and machines moving from rigid, text-based outputs to intuitive interactions that mirror human conversation. And today we are proud to enter a new phase of voice-forward interaction: conversational interaction with custom voices created by the user.

We’re excited to be working with our longstanding partner ElevenLabs to introduce magic voice, which gives you the ability to customize the voice of your r1 using your natural language prompts. This is a continuation of our joint efforts with ElevenLabs, following our collaboration last year to bring a more lifelike AI voice to r1. With all of these efforts, we’re giving r1 users a blank canvas for them to customize their r1 voice in practically any way they want, in 32 languages.

rabbit and ElevenLabs share a common goal — to make interactions with AI more intuitive. Since the early stages of r1 development, we have been advancing that mission as we redefined the user experience of a natural language-based AI device, enabling more personalized and engaging voice interactions. As a recognized leader in audio AI, ElevenLabs is an excellent partner to join us on this endeavor.

AI is becoming more deeply ingrained and seamlessly integrated in our daily lives. And as AI becomes more capable and more useful, we want to provide a playground for you to experiment, explore and personalize your AI experience. This is the approach we’re taking with r1 and rabbit OS. We are working towards building a well rounded and complete environment where you have the power to determine how you want to interact with AI and the internet.
