r1 receives top honors by Red Dot with two “Best of the Best” design awards

We’re excited to share some incredible news: rabbit r1 has picked up two Best of the Best awards in the Red Dot Design Awards 2025 — the top honor in one of the world’s most respected and competitive design competitions.

Red Dot founder and CEO Dr. Peter Zec shared that among the numerous submissions from companies and design studios from all over the world, the outstanding quality and design of rabbit r1 won over the international Red Dot jury.

For the first time, the jury awarded Red Winner Points to the Best of the Best selections, and we couldn’t be more proud of how r1 scored for its pioneering design and outstanding quality: 96/100 points in the Innovative Design category and 99/100 points in the Mobile Devices category.

Together with teenage engineering, we designed r1 to give users a new way to interact with technology — in a fun and tactile device built for natural language inputs. The design is inspired by some of our favorite devices from earlier generations, like the Pokédex, Tamagotchi, and walkie-talkie. r1 also gives users access to rabbit’s latest research updates in AI agent technology.

About the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2025

The Red Dot Award: Product Design is one of the most prestigious design competitions worldwide. Since 1955, it has recognized products that stand out for their exceptionally high design quality.

The independent Red Dot Jury assesses all entries based on four key principles of good design: the quality of function, the quality of seduction, the quality of use and the quality of responsibility.

In 2025, the jury consisted of 43 experts from 21 countries, including designers, professors, journalists and consultants from various disciplines. Entries were submitted from over 60 countries and were carefully reviewed and discussed by the jurors.
